Beauty Favourites | May 2017

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well!

I’m going to do a little Favourites post today, as I haven’t done one in bloody forever. I really want to do one every month, but I’ll remember on like, the 16th of the month and be like ‘Oh shit I’ve forgotten again’. However I’m going to try my best!

If you want any of the products in the post, just click the product name, I’ve made it so it’ll take you straight to the website.

UTAN and Tone Nourishing Night Crème – I’ve tried so many facial tanners and just found them to make me look like a piece of shit, and the tan to cling to every single blemish, spot, and show off every blemish that wasn’t even noticeable before and make it 3D, however this one is great. Gives your face a lovely, natural looking glow, and moisturises at the same time. Thoroughly recommend.

St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted – I flipping love this gradual tan. Do you know why? Not just because it gives me a great tan, but because IT’S TINTED! There’s nothing worse than a white gradual tan, because you have no idea where you’ve applied it because it doesn’t tint your skin, so I always seem to end up with an uneven tan. Also, when you use a gradual tan, sometimes you just want an immediate bit of colour, and this is what this one does.

It gives you a lovely little golden glow straight away that develops over a few days, and makes your skin look flawless, plus it moisturises at the same time so you don’t get that dry feeling you sometimes get after tanning.

St Tropez Self Tan Classic – This is the most flawless tan I’ve ever used. It’s not the cheapest tan, but we all know St Tropez isn’t, however I’ve seriously seen the difference from cheaper tans. Even when my tan’s been a little bit patchy underneath (when isn’t it to be honest) this seems to just cover it, and make my skin look a flawless golden brown, smooth, and just perfect. I’m seriously in love with this and after trying so many different tans over more than a decade, this is seriously my favourite to date. It’s a mist, so you just spray it on the area you want to tan and then rub it in with a mitt. Love love love.

Nip + Fab Blusher Palette – I recently did a post about Nip + Fab’s new makeup range (read it here) and said I was going to try all the different bits and let you know. I’ve been trying to try one item at a time so that I can give accurate reviews, so I’ve been trying the blusher palette first of all and I love it. It’s got a great colour range, as a lot of blusher palettes from other brands contain a load of neon shades and non that are really wearable unless you have more olive/darker skin that looks good with a neon blush, whereas fairer skinned gals like myself (well, I’ve constantly got 60 layers of fake tan on so I’m not really fair skinned ha) need something a bit more subtle, that’s almost more bronzey than bright pink, and this palette is exactly that.

It’s got the perfect amount of pigmentation, so when you sweep your brush across it you don’t pick up 8 tonnes of product and therefore you look like a clown, but you don’t have to sweep your brush again and again to pick anything up. It’s a really good travel sized palette as well; thoroughly recommend.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder – Absolutely love this powder. I haven’t used a set powder for years, instead sticking to my trusty loose powder which I do still adore, however I had heard some good things about this one and thought I’d try it…and I’m so glad I did! I’ve bought the Fair shade to use for under eye highlighting and also I wanted it to match my translucent powder shades as much as possible, however I’m going to try the Medium one next for an all over face powder.

It does what it says; makes you look flawless and airbrushed. Whenever my makeup goes a bit ‘off’ during the day and looks a bit gross, I literally just put a bit of this on and it’s back to looking freshly done again. I’ve found that when I use my loose powder to top up throughout the day, it doesn’t really make it look anywhere near as good as this one does.

It’s seriously great, and although it’s a bit on the pricey side, it works so so well, and it’s worth every penny. The packaging is bloody beautiful as well.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette – What a beautiful piece of kit, seriously. The most buttery, pigmented, gorgeous coloured eyeshadows. They’re long lasting, they’re stunning shades, they’re creamy and so easy to apply. The palette smells like peaches. I don’t have much more to say on this one apart from that you need it. It’s so pigmented too, that you barely need to use any product.

P.S…Pro High Definition Mascara – Unfortunately Primark don’t have a website so I can’t link this, but you can get it in store. This mascara is from Primark, and it’s bloody amazing. It costs about £3 I think, and it’s better than the majority of high end ones I’ve used. It makes my lashes look so long and defined. It’s quite a wet mascara, so when you apply sometimes it can get a tad clumpy, however I just use a lash or brow brush and come through and it looks perfect. Seriously, if you’re on a budget or even if you’re not, TRY THIS MASCARA! It’s really, really great, and such a reasonable price.

Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red Matte Revolution Lipstick – The best red lipstick I’ve ever come across in my life. Matte, but feels smooth and buttery, looks stunning on the lips, the most beautiful deep red shade, long lasting, great pigmentation…just everything about it is unreal. I really struggle with finding red lipsticks that don’t look too dry and crusty, or smudge all over my face, and I’ve found it in this. It’s amazing.

So, that’s all my beauty favourites for the month of May – I hope you enjoyed it! Speak soon.

All my love BGP xx
