Disappointing Beauty Products | July 2017

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well.

Today is a blog post most of you seem to love, and it’s the beauty products I have found to be basically useless to have in my makeup/toiletry bag.

I think it’s important to do these posts rather than just sing the praises of everything. It is a fact of life that you will not get on with every product, and you will not love everything you put on your face, body and hair, and I’m not going to pretend that I do.

Again, to state for the record, the majority of brands I feature, I love a lot of other products they offer, but these particular ones just didn’t work for me.

Basically…what is this? One thing for sure is it’s not powder. I genuinely think it may be icing sugar and I’m not even joking.

I would have opened it to show you the powder, but the lid is jammed and I can’t open it…but it looks like icing sugar and feels like icing sugar and is about as much use as it.

I’ve tried to get on with this power; thought it may be a drugstore dupe for my trusty Laura Mercier baby but it wasn’t meant to be.

I baked under my eyes with this, and my friend literally said to me ‘What on earth is wrong with your face?’. Whenever my face caught the light, my under eyes were some kind of weird, patchy, metallic situation. It was very odd.

So yes, I may as well have just gone to the Sainsburys baking isle and dropped £1.99 on Tate & Lyle Icing Sugar. Soz NYX cos I luuuurve some of your other stuff, but I think there may have been a mishap at the factory.

I feel like having ‘XXL’ on this Rodial mascara is a bit odd as it was far from it. It gave me the most subtle lash look I’ve ever experienced, and by subtle, I mean next to nothing.

It gave no volume, no length, no definition, nothing.

I’m all for a more natural lash look sometimes, but if I want that, I’ll just stick to normal one that can also give me an amazing volumised look (£3 Primark mascara YAAAAS) and just wear less and be less heavy handed with it.

So yeah, I love Rodial skincare, and I actually have an eyeliner of theirs which I really liked, but this was a no from me.

Ahhhh I wanted to love this so bad. My bestfriend went to Miami and brought me back some Sephora treats (love ya girl) and I was very excited about this palette. Also if you’re reading this I’M SORRY AND I LOVE YOU I’M NOT BEING UNGRATEFUL I LOVE EVERYTHING ELSE YOU GOT ME OKAY.

To be frank, it has no pigmentation. It just doesn’t. There’s not much else to say about it really. It’s the Sephora Sunbleached Filter palette and I think the pigment did get sunbleached out of it.

To be honest when you swatch it on your fingers it’s not too bad but when applying onto the eyes it just vanishes. It’s too powdery and not buttery enough. Sephora, I love you, but this isn’t your finest product.

So yes, these are a few products I’ve tried lately and not loved I’m afraid!

I hope you enjoyed this little post and I’ll speak to you all soon.

All my love BGP xx
