Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well!
Today, I am chatting to you about the Kiko Milano Tropic Heat Primer & Fixer in 01 Red Fruits, which is basically a primer and a setting spray in one. I was excited to use this, as I was hoping I’d find a dupe for my beloved Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray.
Spoiler; I didn’t.
So, to begin with, it’s not very big, so if you do end up liking it, I can imagine you’ll have to repurchase pretty quickly. Setting spray is something that needs to come with a bigger scale in mind, as you don’t use it minimally, so it gets used up quickly if it’s not of a suitable size.
The spray didn’t disperse very well; it didn’t feel particularly wet, or like much was coming out with each spray.
I also found that there were white, powdery particles coming out, which I was unsure of whether they should be there or not.
I’ve used this as a primer, as a setting spray, and as both, and I’ve disliked it as all 3 if I’m honest.
My makeup with this on, has not been great. And by not been great, I mean seriously bad.
It’s oxidized beyond belief, leaving me a lot more orange/pink than I was after first application, and my foundation is not one that oxidizes as I’ve used it for a very long time. Patchiness started pretty early on, with a lot more creasing under my eyes than normal, my T zone becoming extremely oily looking, especially on my nose, where on the tip, most of my makeup seemed to have disappeared.
My pores were the most visible they’ve ever been and I actually feel that this product added to them, and made them look a lot worse than normal. Dry, patchiness alongside oiliness was distributed across my cheeks and forehead, with an especially big amount of patchiness towards the bottom of my face.
To the touch, my skin felt extremely dry in some parts (mainly around the edges of my face) and across my nose and cheeks, it was overly oily.
All in all, the way my makeup looks when using this product is something I really, really dislike. It made me want to go home and just cleanse my whole face immediately. Not good at all.
I hope you found this helpful, and obviously there’s every chance it could work wonders for someone else, but it certainly didn’t for me.
All my love BGP xx
