My Top 5 Budget Beauty Buys

Hello hello hello, it’s me again! I am blogging pretty regularly at the moment, with around 3/4 posts going up a week and I’m loving it! Anyway, I hope you’re all well. Just to let you know, I know I say that in every post, but I do care if you’re well – if you’re not well, feel free to tweet me and let me know, and I’ll try and cheer you up.

So, I want to feature more budget beauty products on my blog – I’ve featured mainly high end and for a lot of people, it’s just not do-able to spend £40 on a foundation, which is fair enough – my bank balance will probably thank me if I start using more reasonably priced makeup! That’s why today I’m going to share with you My Top 5 Budget Beauty Buys at the moment.

Garnier Skin Micellar Cleansing Water – Who said good skincare needs to be expensive? I’ve used this since it came out and I love it. I always buy a 700ml bottle as it lasts ages, it’s more cost effective and it just means I don’t have to keep replacing it.

If you’ve not tried this before or you’re not familiar with micellar water, it’s essentially something called ‘micelles’ that are suspended in soft water, and they are really little balls of cleansing oil molecules that get rid of all the crap on your skin, whether that be makeup, general dirt and grime, and they don’t dry out the skin.

I use this every single day to remove my makeup with some cotton pads, and then I use a cleansing balm or something similar to give a deeper cleanse afterwards. A 700ml bottle costs £7.99, or a little one that’s 125ml for £1.99, but I’d definitely recommend buying a larger bottle!

It’s a cheap and good product; it works well, doesn’t break me out or cause any skin problems for me, and I’ve bought it again and again. Definitely worth shedding a few pennies on!

Primark PS Pro High Definition Mascara Ultra Volume & Lift – Absolutely love this mascara, and it costs £3! I’d go as far as saying it’s one of, if not the best mascara I’ve ever used. Yep, for THREE FLIPPING POUNDS. I’m gonna be honest, I can be a right makeup snob; I wouldn’t of probably ever thought to pick this up in Primark if I was in there, but it came in my Glossy Box I believe, and so I tried it, and I’m SO GLAD I DID! God, there’s a lot of shouty capitals in this.

It lengthens my lashes so well, separates them, makes them inky black and not clumpy. When I first used it, it was quite a wet mascara, so sometimes I would need to use a spoolie brush to separate my lashes a tad, but the more I’ve used it, the less I’ve needed to do that, and now I don’t need to do it at all. It’s an absolutely brilliant mascara, and it gives you change from a fiver. What’s not to love?

I’m going to go and buy some more this weekend to stock up on, and I’d recommend you do too!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – LOVE this. Always used to use Beauty Blenders, which to be fair are great, but they’re not cheap, it’s like £16 for a sponge, so I decided to start trying these and they are brilliant. So soft and bouncy, they blend your makeup like a dream, and they cost £5.99 each, or you can buy a 2 or even 4 pack I think.

You can apply and blend any liquid product with these, but I usually apply my foundation with a brush and then blend my concealer on top with this and bake my under eyes by pressing powder on with the sponge too.

Really recommend buying one of these if you haven’t tried them already.

Maybelline Master Ink Liquid Eyeliner – I enjoy this eyeliner thoroughly. It’s another £5.99 jobby, and it’s definitely worth that. It’s a really inky black, the precise brush makes it easy to apply; I do experience a slight bit of transfer onto the corner of my eye throughout the night but if you apply powder or eyeshadow to your lash line then it limits the amount of transfer. It’s not perfect, but it’s very good for £5.99, and actually better than a lot of expensive ones I’ve used.

Milani Baked Blush in ‘Luminoso’  – I have featured this in a favourites before so apologies, but it is a budget buy and it’s brilliant.

Now, I wouldn’t say all the Milani Baked Blushes are good; I’ve tried Luminoso (this one which is gorgeous and so pigmented) and I’ve tried Dolce Pink which was absolutely shit, and had no pigmentation whatsoever. Luminoso is a huge favourite by makeup lovers, and I understand why; it gives a lovely peachy, pinky golden glow to your cheeks, and as I said, it’s very pigmented. It’s a tenner, so the most expensive of all my budget buys, but it’s so pigmented and you get a lot of product so it’s worth it I think.

I hope you liked this post and got some inspiration on some budget beauty buys! I want to feature more drugstore products on my blog so I’m planning on doing a little Boots and Superdrug shopping spree and posting lots more reviews for you all.

Speak soon!

All my love BGP xx
