My Holy Grail Beauty Products | Makeup

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re all well.

Today’s blog is a big old beauty one, and it’s my Holy Grail Makeup Products (I’m going to be doing skincare and haircare ones too) – so this is the products I’ve tried and tested for a very long time; there’s only one item (a lipstick) that is relatively new in my makeup bag, and I’ve tried that for around a month, however most of the products I’ve been using for well over a year, and some of them I’ve used for years, and I wanted to share them with you, because they are amazing.

I’ll be linking everything in case you want to get anything for yourself (and you should), if you click the name of the product it’ll take you to the item, and I’ve tried to find the best prices I can for them all. Right, let’s get into it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette – Excuse the fact I haven’t included a photo of the inside of this (click that link and you’ll be able to see inside the palette) but mine is basically completely empty, and so you really can’t see the shades – a new one shall be purchased this weekend! There’s a million photos of the palette online, and it’s beautiful.

I’d say it’s probably my favourite palette of all time – the most gorgeous shades ever, warm browns, pinks, reds, the most UNREAL golden champagne shimmer shade, and oranges. It’s so wearable, and you can create so many different looks.

The shadows are extremely pigmented, creamy, blend-able and long lasting, and honestly, I think you NEED it in your life.

My only downside is that the covering is a velour type material and so can get dirty quite easily.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in ‘Champagne Pop’  – So,  I’m obviously in need of a new one of these, and I was going to buy a new one to photograph for the post, but I thought you know what, I’m going to show you just how much I love this by posting it, pretty much totally empty (I can still get a good amount out by digging my brush in round the edges haha).

This is the most perfect, gorgeous, golden highlighter I’ve ever come across. It’s powder but it’s a really creamy powder, it blends amazingly into the skin, and gives a beautiful champagne (obvs) coloured glow, that gives just the right amount of colour intensity on the cheekbones.

I also apply this on my collarbones when I go out, as it gives a really lovely shimmer on the body as well as the face.

I’ve had this well over a year, and I use it at least 3/4 times a week I would say, so it’s lasted really well and is completely and utterly worth every penny, I promise you.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder – This is another that I’ve been repurchasing again and again over the years, because it’s so bloody brilliant.

This just makes your skin look so flawless; whether you bake under your eyes with it, or apply it all over your face, it’s such an amazing product. It’s so finely milled, you can’t see it on the skin at all, so it doesn’t look cakey and powdery, and it doesn’t sit on the surface of your face; it sets and gives the appearance of naturally flawless skin.

This pot lasts so long; about 6 months if you’re using it daily, so you really do get your moneys worth. When you apply it on your face, it does give a little bit of fall out on your clothes, but that’s the only way I can fault it really.

If you’re looking for a loose powder, that will set your makeup, get rid of any oiliness, and make your skin look like it has a filter on it, this is for you.

P.S Pro High Definition Mascara – I’ve spoken about this before, but it’s a £3 mascara from Primark and probably one of the best, if not the best, mascara I’ve ever used.

It lengthens, defines and adds volume, and the cheapest of all my Holy Grail products. I really, really recommend getting your hands on this, especially as it’s such a bargain!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – Another absolute favourite, and cheap too. SO much volume, a curved brush to really curl your lashes, and a tube lasts ages.

There’s not much to say about this, apart from it’s extremely popular with everyone who uses it, and it’s cheap too.

NARS Bronzing Powder in ‘Laguna’ – I’m on my second one of these because I love it so much. It is hands down the best bronzer I’ve ever used.

Most bronzers I’ve come across are cakey and muddy, and too orange – this blends absolutely seamlessly, and in fact, it requires so little blending. When I apply this with a bronzer brush, I don’t actually really need to blend it or buff it out, because the consistency is so great, it applies onto the skin flawlessly and immediately sinks in.

It’s the ideal colour for me, it’s brown with ashy undertones, meaning it doesn’t give an ‘orange’ and over the top bronzed look.

I absolutely love this and never leave the house without it – it’s always in my handbag, because it’s so handy with the mirror, and easy to top up throughout the day (not that you really need to) because of the blendability of it.

NARS Blush in ‘Orgasm’ – A fantastic blusher, quite frankly; a rose/sugar pink, with gold gently woven through it, it gives a really natural looking flush to the cheeks.

It lasts ages, and you don’t need to use much to give you a little bit of natural looking life in your cheeks when you’re hungover as fuck.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick In ‘Pillow Talk’ – Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are my favourite; the formula, the colours (except Hepburn Honey which I don’t like the colour of, but the rest I love), the lasting power, the pigmentation…everything. I just adore them. They smell UNREAL too.

I bought Pillow Talk about a month ish ago, and I’ve worn it pretty much every single day since.

It is so buttery and smooth to apply, it’s a gorgeous rosy nude pink, a ‘your lips but better’ colour, and has brilliant staying power. I absolutely adore it, and it does not leave my handbag now.

I think this will be a lipstick I continue buying for the rest of my life, and will be my everyday shade for the forseeable future, unless something even better comes along!

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation – I used to use just the normal HD Foundation, but didn’t particularly like it, and I’ve been using the Ultra HD since it came out…around 2 years ago maybe? Anyway, I’ve tried a few other foundations in between for my blog, but I’ve stuck to this throughout – I absolutely adore it.

It’s medium, build-able coverage – if I have spots I use concealer on top to really cover them, because this just gives an amazing, dewy yet good coverage finish. It’s a beautiful foundation, that sits perfectly on the skin, and gives you a lovely glow.

It’s not cakey, and it doesn’t oxidize. It looks better when using a primer/setting spray, however I’ve worn this without either, and it lasts all day.

It really is the perfect foundation for me, and I cannot get enough of it. I seriously recommend trying it out, and there’s a tonne of online swatches to colour match yourself with.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer – There’s a full review on this here if you want to have a read, but essentially, I’ve been using this concealer since it first came out, and nothing else.

It’s flipping incredible – it covers everything, makes you look flawless, and is so easy to blend. Long lasting, creamy, and a tube lasts ages. I use a darker one (Medium Neutral) for blemishes, and a lighter one (Fair Neutral) for brightening my under eyes up.

Honestly, you won’t regret trying this, I promise you – I haven’t met anyone who’s tried it and doesn’t love it.

MAC Soar Lip Liner – I think this is the product I’ve been using the longest…I’d say at least 5 years or more? It’s the lip liner, and just generally the lip product, that I go back to time and time again.

You can press harder or more lightly and get a different coloured finish; what I love about this is that it’s a beautiful natural lip colour. It’s so easy to over draw your lips with this, and still have them look natural and not overdone. The rosy/nude shade blends so easily, and you can pair it with most nude and pink lipsticks, and reds too, due to the versatility of it.

I couldn’t recommend this anymore, and for the quality, brand and how long it lasts, it’s a brilliant price.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Cucumber And Green Tea – Again, full review here. I wasn’t sure whether to include this as I suppose it’s kind of skincare as much as it is makeup; I use it as a primer and setting spray though, so I thought I’d include it.

I spray this on my face before my makeup, then spray it on after as a setting spray, and my makeup looks flawless and doesn’t budge all day.

It’s £7, so it’s EXTREMELY budget friendly, and worth every penny.

I will keep re-buying this, because honestly, it’s rare to find something that keeps your makeup on so well.

Milani Baked Blush in ‘Luminoso’ – This is on sale for £8 at the moment too WOO. This blusher is sooo lovely. Literally gives the prettiest peachy/pink/golden glow to your cheeks, it’s pigmented, glowy, and makes you look perfectly flushed and healthy.

The domed shape means there’s loads of product so it lasts ages, and it’s honestly a blusher I will keep on repurchasing, because it just sets off any makeup look.

If you’re looking for a blusher and don’t want to spend a lot, this is the cheaper of my 2 holy grail blushers I’ve featured today, and just as good as the more expensive one from NARS.

Okay so, that’s all of my Holy Grail Makeup Products; I hope you enjoyed this blog post and got some inspiration if you’re wanting to update your makeup bag.

All my love BGP xx
