Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand Review

Hi everyone!

I hope you’re all well.

Today is a little makeup review post, and it’s about the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand in Light to Medium – I’ve only tried this shade, but the darker one for darker skin tones, I’m assuming is exactly the same in formula, consistency etc.

So, the first time I used this I absolutely hated it.

To be fair, I think it was mainly my fault; I think there was a little bit of powder on my cheekbones where I was using it, and you shouldn’t really use a liquid based product over a powder based one as it can go a bit funny.

I also used waaaay too much, which I’m sure most people made the mistake of when using this for the first time too.

You basically squeeze the tube (LIGHTLY) and it comes out the end, and then you twist the end to close it up again.

You only need the tiniest amount, to dot under your cheekbones, along your temple, under your chin and down the sides of your nose to contour your face to perfection. You can always add more where you feel you need it, but if you put too much on, you can’t take it off, so it’s always better to go lighter at first.

When I used too much, it looked thick and orange and cakey on my skin; also, when I applied it over powder, it was extremely patchy.

The way to use this, is after primer, foundation and concealer, and then use this, so that you’re applying it on top of a liquid base, so it will blend seamlessly and evenly.

When using the correct amount, and patting it in with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, it’s an absolute dream; you look like you have naturally chiseled cheekbones. I apply my usual NARS Laguna Bronzer over the top to set the contour, and then go about my normal makeup routine, and I amĀ obsessed.

I feel like this has that perfection ashy undertone that means it looks natural on your skin, and like you actually have a good set of cheekbones. For someone like me, who has never grown out of the chubby cheeks phase and I have to contour the shit out of my face everyday to try and get some kind of bone structure everyday, this product is a dream, and really sleek and easy to shove in your bag.

This is really setting off my makeup at the moment, and when used correctly can transform your face completely.

You can get it here – and the darker one here. I’m going to try the highlighter wand soon and I’ll let you all know my thoughts on that too!

If you’re looking for a creamy contouring product that will last ages (because you only need to use a teeeeeny bit each time) and create a face that has cheekbones to kill, I recommend this.

Speak soon.

All my love BGP xx
