Hi everybody, I hope you’re all well!
SO, as you know, I was a little bit off the grid in October with life, so I didn’t get round to posting my monthly Beauty Favourites like I usually do, so I’ve combined my October & November ones together, I hope you don’t mind.
Clinique Pep Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser – I bought this on a whim, because I realised that I’d been using cleansers and face masks and toners and everything else in my skincare routine, except an exfoliator, and my skin was feeling really dry and gross, especially around the side of my nose, and so my makeup really didn’t look nice in those areas.
I literally ran into Debenhams, the Clinique counter was there first, and I bought this within about 30 seconds to be honest, but I’m really glad I did. It’s a gentle enough exfoliator, my face doesn’t feel red raw after. It’s been really great for getting rid of dryness and dead skin cells, and the dry skin around my nose has improved so much after using this.
I also forgot to bring my cleanser into the bath the other day, and used this to take my makeup off as it is a cleanser too, and it worked really well for that, so I’m pretty pleased with this purchase!
Nina Ricci Nina Eau de Toilette Spray – LOVE this perfume, and it’s not too expensive either. I’ve been wearing it every day, and it’s just a really fresh, fruity scent, with notes of citrus. I think the bottle is so cute too. I’m absolutely shocking at describing perfumes, so I’d suggest either trusting me (I think you should) or going and smelling it yourself.
Lord & Berry Magic Brow in ‘Brunette’ – I’m literally loving this brow pencil at the moment. It’s the perfect colour for my eyebrows as it matches my hair really well, and it’s just really easy to use and blend. I’d been using brow powder for ages, so it’s the first time I’ve opted to go back to a pencil for a very long time. Mine doesn’t have a spoolie attached to the end of it, but they do online, so I guess that’s just a bonus! It gives me a really natural brow look which is what I love, but because it’s a pencil it’s still easy to make them look defined.
The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Shower Gel – I feel bloody annoying putting stuff from this range in my Favourites because it was a Halloween release and so they’re not available anymore, however I’ve linked the most similar product that I can.
The first time I used this I was like FUCKING HELL I smell like I’ve just been chilling in the oven of a bakery for 16 hours, like it’s a pretty intense baked good smell. However, I’ve gotten used to it, and I now really love the smell, and it also makes my skin feel really soft and silky. I’ve been shaving my legs with this and it’s left them really smooth.
The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Softening Body Butter – Again, I’ve linked the most similar pumpkin body lotion that I could, sorry! This smells like a dream, and like all of their body butters, is so rich and moisturising, and makes my skin feel as smooth as a babies. I love putting this on after a bath, and again, I go to bed smelling like a bakery, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Lush Sleepy Body Lotion – I talked about this on Instagram today, but basically, I love this stuff. I’d been reading online about it, and the fact that people were putting it on their babies and toddlers (it’s completely natural like all Lush products, so I’m assuming it’s safe to do so – they know more than me, I’m not a parent!) to get them to go to sleep. What’s wrong with good old fashioned whisky on the dummy?
Anyway, I bought this, as I’m not always the best at getting to sleep. I stay up really late typing up and editing blog posts and replying to emails, so my brain is usually pretty wired and then I struggle to get to sleep until the early hours, and even then I’m tossing and turning sometimes. I also suffer from bad dreams quite a lot of the time.
I apply this to my neck, chest, arms and the bottom of my feet, and honestly, it gets me to sleep so well, and so quickly. I don’t know if it’s a bit of a placebo effect, but I think it actually does work. The lavender scent really does make me drift off and have a lovely, long relaxing sleep. In blunt terms, this shit totally knocks me out.
I also have found that I either don’t dream, or don’t remember my dreams, when I use this, which is always a plus as I actually really don’t like dreaming! I don’t necessarily use this to moisturise with, although my skin does feel nice and smooth in the morning, I more use it to aid sleep.
I really do recommend this if you struggle with sleeping, or just want something for a more relaxing sleep. Let me know how you get on!
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme – I’ve done a full and more detailed blog posts about these here, but I hadn’t used them for a while as I’d ran out, and I recently bought a new pot and I’ve fallen in love with them all over again! They’re cleansing pads that you use before bed in the evening, and they contain a high level of glycolic acid at 5% (an acid that helps exfoliate and fade discolouration and things like acne scars). They also contain 3 other types of acid (all that are completely safe to put on your face), that help to unclog pores and pretty much get rid of any spots and blemishes on your face.
I really love these, and if you suffer from any skin woes, especially spots, I truly recommend getting these in your life ASAP! Lots of you bought them when I did the review, and have since told me how much you love them, so I know it’s not just me that loves them!
Too Faced Melted Matte Gingerbread Man Lipstick – At the time of publishing this post, it’s currently sold out, but keep checking back on that link and hopefully they should get some more!
To begin with, the packaging is absolutely adorable, I’m literally obsessed. Secondly, the smell is AMAZING. Again, like the body products, it smells like a bakery. And next, it’s the most beautiful rust colour, non drying, long lasting and highly pigmented.
I almost don’t want to use it because it’s limited edition, but I need to because it’s SO UNREAL.
Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Treatment Mask – To begin with, this smells like carrot cake, so I basically want to eat it everytime I put it on. It contains manuka honey, which ever since I was little, my mum has constantly drilled the importance of it into me. It has incredible healing powers for both the skin and the body, and is great to take orally or apply to blemishes on your face (actual manuka honey, not the mask – just want to make sure I’ve worded that right hahaha). Anyway, I really like how this mask makes my skin feel. It feels soothed and cleansed, and I really do notice a difference in my skin the day after using it if I have any blemishes.
It’s also really hydrating, so great for dry skin too, and to give you a nice glow.
I hope you enjoyed this Beauty Favourites post, and I’ll speak to you all soon!
All my love BGP xx
