Food For Friends is a Brighton based vegetarian restaurant nestled in the heart of The Lanes.
Now I’m not a vegetarian but sometimes it’s nice to enjoy a meal which doesn’t include meat and is packed full of vegetables, delicious sauces and the love of my life, cheese.
Food For Friends underwent a refurbishment during the summer, and the mood in there is elegant, modern and calm. The decor consists cool grey, beige and cream tones and it’s heaven for all you fellow interior lovers like me!
These were SO yummy. They’re skewers with courgettes, peppers and mushrooms with chimichurri salsa and baby leaves. It feels so much better having a starter packed with filling ingredients that don’t bloat you; I always go in for a bread basket or some other filling starter in our restaurants and by the time my main comes I am already stuffed.
For my main course, I opted for the Haloumi & Portobello burger.
It comes with triple cooked chips and truffle Mayo which were absolutely amazing, a little side salad and a brioche bun. The Haloumi cheese was to die for and it was a welcome change from a normal beef burger. I felt so much less bloated than I usually would, and it satisfied the major cheese cravings I have every single day of my life!
Dessert was an AMAZING creation that I wish I could have every single day of my life…
The Tastes Of Chocolate which is a sharing platter for two to share, includes a mesmerising selection of triple chocolate fudge, white chocolate and Baileys mousse, double chocolate brownie, salt caramelised white chocolate and dark chocolate and chilli truffles.
This was absolutely to die for and we were well and truly stuffed by the end of it! The strawberry sauce blobs were also incredible. Can I just eat this every single day please?
I absolutely loved this meal and will definitely be returning! I thoroughly recommend it for both veggies and non veggies.
