Anyone close to me in my life knows that the main thing I always want for Christmas, is makeup, or pretty much anything beauty related.
Whilst I do love clothes, shoes, bags, and a number of other wonderful things, I tend to buy them myself, and when it gets to around November, I will compile a list of beauty goodies that I’m lusting after. A lot of them I will purchase myself, but if anyone asks what I want for Christmas, I will shoot them something from the list.
Luckily, I also have fellow makeup junkies in my life who don’t need to ask me and will go and pick me a surprise which I absolutely love.
I personally love to see new makeup/beauty products people have so I thought I’d share with you all what I got for Christmas that was beauty related!
So the first thing I got was this gorgeous MAC lipstick from one of my best friends.
It’s in the shade Film Noir which I’ve wanted for aaaages and never gotten round to getting so I’m over the moon that I’ve got it now, especially since it’s SUCH a perfect Winter Shade!
It’s a deep, rich chocolate brown with slight burgundy undertones and it’s going to create such a strong lip look. I can’t wait to wear it with a smoked out golden eye and slick hair – or even big curls. It’s such a versatile shade that would suit so many different looks, from neutral to dramatic.
The next few beauty bits I got were from my lovely boyfriend. He chose the rest of my presents himself, but I didn’t let him loose to choose my makeup as he has no interest in it whatsoever, so these were the things I asked for, and he came up with the goods!
The first thing is this gorgeous blusher in ‘Orgasm’ by NARS.
I’m sure most of you know that this is one of the best blushers of all time, the perfect natural shade of pink and by an incredible brand, so of course this was on my list! I absolutely adore the packaging for NARS cheek products too; it’s so sleek and simple and unbulky.
The next goodie was this amazing lipstick I’ve had my eye on for a lifetime; ‘Fanny’ by NARS.
Fanny is a pinky/purple deep fuchsia shade and I adore it. I think it’s one that’s really wearable all year round so it’s definitely a new favourite for me! It’s from the NARS Audacious range which is full of stunning shades.
Another lipstick now (sorry, I’m a lipstick addict) and it is the absolutely unreal Red Carpet Red from the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution range.
This is the most beautiful lipstick I own by far, even the packaging it came in was out of this world. Deep purple tissue paper, gold embossed stickers, the payment confirmation in a thick cream embossed envelope. Everything about the brand just screams luxury and this lipstick is no different.
This is the first completely matte red I own; every red I own has at least a small amount of satin finish but I prefer matte finishes so I’m unbelievably excited to try this out.
The last makeup item I got from my boyfriend was one of my all time favourites, the Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion in Original.
This is one of my holy grail beauty products that I have used for such a long time and then suddenly stopped buying it for no apparent reason, so I asked for a new tube for Christmas so that I could get back into using it. It’s the best eyeshadow primer I’ve ever used and is also amazing for filling in lines under your eyes.
Now onto scents; Daisy by Marc Jacobs was my favourite perfume for so long but I’ve been wanting to try something new, so my boyfriend got me Honey by Marc Jacobs, which I was very impressed with him getting off his own back!
I’m horrendous at describing perfumes so please bear with me (I’m learning). This is definitely less of an evening scent as it’s a lot lighter and fresher, and I think I actually prefer it to Daisy!
I’ve wanted to try this perfume for ages, so I was really happy when I unwrapped it from my parents! It’s Lady Million by Paco Rabanne.
One of my presents from my parents was a Charlotte Tilbury voucher so I went online and ordered the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Hepburn Honey.
This is such a gorgeous nude colour and it will be perfect for daytime and night time wear. I’m so happy I’m building up my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick collection as they’re all such beautiful shades!
I also ordered the Powder & Sculpt Brush.
This is by far the most beautiful and luxurious makeup brush, if not beauty product in general, that I own. I’ve heard incredible things about this brush. The pointed tip will make it perfect for contouring and sculpting the cheekbones but it’s also a really great brush for applying highlighter I think. It’s just beyond beautiful!
I also got some Debenhams vouchers from extended family and I had £50 to spend, so I decided to order the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair.
I’ve wanted to try this for SO long, as I’ve heard rave reviews from pretty much everybody in the beauty industry. I won’t talk about it too much as I’m planning on trialling it for a month or so and then doing a full blog post on it, but all I can say is I was a bit disappointed at how tiny the bottle is. It looks a lot bigger in the photo, so it’s pretty tiny in real life and it cost £50 for a 30ml bottle. I do understand that it’s a luxury beauty product but still! I’m sure I’m going to love this, and if I do, repurchasing it isn’t going to be cheap!
I also received things like makeup wipes, and some nice Body Shop products but I decided not to feature those as you all know what face wipes and shower gel looks like so I didn’t think it would be that exciting!
I hope you all enjoyed this post and also got some lovely bits for Christmas. I just want to say that this post in no way is bragging about the fact I received high end products for Christmas; people would not buy me these types of things all year round, and the high end makeup I buy throughout the year is always with my own money.
Did you get any nice beauty bits for Christmas? Let me know by tweeting me @btongirlprobs as I’d love to see!
I wish you all a very happy New Year and I’ll speak to you soon!
All my love BGP xx
