I’m so sorry this is up a day late – it was meant to go live yesterday but life took over and I didn’t get chance to add the finishing touches to it – but, it’s live now, so all is well and good again.
I hadn’t done a New In Beauty post in quite a while, so I thought it was time to. If you’re new here, then basically my New In Beauty posts are where I share with you the latest releases in the world of beauty.
Today is something rather special; as I’m sure all of you will know, Urban Decay released a collection to celebrate the release of the latest Alice In Wonderland film, consisting of 5 lipsticks and the gorgeous eyeshadow palette that I’m going to share with you today.
Now, again, if any of you are new to my blog, this isn’t a full review, that comes later once I’ve had chance to fully test out the products. This is simply sharing with you the latest releases and talking you through what they are!
So without further ado, let’s get on with it.
So, the first image in the blog post is showing you the palette boxed, and this image above it the actual palette standing alone without the box on. Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous? As soon as I saw the packaging when it was released online, I knew I had to have it. It sounds stupid but any makeup junkies will know that before even hearing what the palette is like, you see how beautiful the design is and you’re like; I NEED IT.
It retails at £43 so it’s by no means a budget palette, but if you’re looking to treat yourself to a new makeup item and you just so happen to love Disney too, then this may be the one for you.
When you open the lid you’re met with this. My jaw literally dropped when I first saw this; the design is so vibrant and mad, but still very much a convenient makeup product, what with the stand up lid and the mirror.
Oh my gawwwwd. Yep, I know, I had the same reaction. The detailing and vibrancy on this palette is just extraordinary; it fits so well with the mad, out of this world theme of Alice In Wonderland. I think Urban Decay have certainly hit the nail on the head here.
Now, onto the most important thing in the palette; the actual eyeshadows.
It’s a perfect colour spectrum in terms of the colour choices; a brilliant mix of neutrals and nudes, and brights, so you can pretty much create any look.
What I will say is, I swatched the shadows, and some of the lighter colours are very wishy washy. They don’t stand out, and I was fake tanned and many of them struggled to even show up on my arm.
The brighter shades were fantastic and very pigmented, but from what I can tell by swatching a couple of the lighter shades, they weren’t so much.
Don’t get me wrong, maybe the lighter shades are meant to be more sheer, and to be fair I haven’t actually worn them on my eyes as of yet. But I will get back to you on that and do a full review with swatches.
So, I hope you liked this blog post and fell in love with this palette as much as I did – and I’ll speak to you soon!
All my love BGP xx
