So today I’ve got a blog post for you that is pretty highly requested; it’s basically the makeup I wear for everyday life!
Now it may seem like a lot, and it may be to a lot of people, but many of the products are essential for my everyday face. I obviously use different lip colours and blushers and eyeshadows etc, but at the moment these are generally what I’m reaching for everyday. I use setting spray when I can remember, which isn’t as often as it should be, so I didn’t include it in this as I wanted to show what I use without fail everyday.
Right, on with the post then!
One of these products will come as no surprise to most of you, but the other I haven’t spoken about as much.
Le Blanc De Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base is what I’m currently using for primer; it has the consistency and thickness of a moisturiser, so I generally pat it on gently instead of rubbing and it gives my skin a good, almost tacky, base for makeup. Would I say it’s illuminating? Not really once my makeup is on, but then that may be because my setting powder makes my makeup pretty matte.
Next, my current fave foundation, and probably all time favourite foundation, Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Foundation.
I rave about this a lot, but I feel it’s worth the hype. For so long I was buying foundation after foundation and just feeling they looked shit and cakey on my skin, as I always went for extreme full coverage. Then, I gave this one a go. It’s medium coverage, but I’ve since learnt that’s enough, and if I want coverage an to cover blemishes etc, then use concealer, so it’s just adding coverage to the affected areas. A lovely glowing yet matte base that looks amazing on the skin, I thoroughly recommend this. I use shade Y245 and it’s perfect. Oh, and I buy it online at Debenhams.
Next, another product I’ll never stop raving about; the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Foundation. Wow that’s a mouthful.
Hands down the best concealer I’ve used yet; I cannot remember my life without this and don’t want to. I wear this every single day. I have a darker shade for blemishes and using under my eyes before then going in with the lighter shade under my eyes to brighten up. So flawless, beautiful coverage that doesn’t look cakey, and lasts ages. Such an amazing product.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder; I’ve been using this for 2 years and I just adore it. The most flawless, amazing setting powder ever that lasts absolutely months. Blurs imperfections, sets makeup and is incredible for baking (under the eyes, not to make a Victoria sponge with).
The NYX Eyebrow Gel is something I only bought recently but have been using a lot the past few weeks; it’s not too far from the Dip Brow Pomade except that this is more of a liquid. I do like it, I apply it with an angled makeup brush, but less is definitely more with this otherwise the product clings to your brows and goes a bit lumpy.
So, now for contouring/bronzing. If I’m going out I’ll use a full on contour kit and separate bronzer, but for everyday when I’m in a rush, it’s handle to just double up products.
The Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Golden Light 1 is just such a good product. Perfectly easy to blend, a slight ashy tone to it yet still warm undertones making it perfect for bronzing too. I really love this product and use it every single day just to warm my face up, plus it has a handy mirror.
Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Sparkling Bellini is something I’ve been wearing most days since I bought it. The packaging is gorgeous, the shades are lovely, and it’s not too over the top in the way that swirling your brush around in it won’t give you an over the top flush.
The Charlotte Tilbury Vintage Vamp Palette is something I’ve been reaching for a lot lately; I got it for Christmas and didn’t really use it very much and then dug it out over Summer and now I cannot get enough of it. The shades are beautiful. especially the two lighter shades with one of the darker ones blended into the crease. They’re creamy, blendable and long lasting and in a really compact little palette.
For everyday makeup I don’t really wear eyeliner, because I just find it too stressful when I’m going out the door in a rush, and also, I want my makeup to look different when I go out at night so I tend to skip eyeliner during the day mostly.
Therefore, my next product is obviously mascara, and it’s the YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara in Radical Noir.
I love this mascara, I really do, but I feel like I’m in need of a new one even though I’ve not had this too long, because it doesn’t seem to be lengthening my lashes as much as it did at the start. I love the way it makes my lashes look however the one thing I’d say is that not a day goes by when it doesn’t transfer onto the underneath of my eyes and I have to wipe it off.
My lips are just dry as fuck all the time, so instead of a lip balm, I’m currently using this ESPA Nourishing Lip Treatment everyday on my lips before I apply any lip products. I really like it as it’s not sticky at all, it’s like a softer and more soothing version of Vaseline but easier to apply because of the application brush.
MAC Lip Liner in Soar has always been a favourite and always will be, and it’s what I throw on most days. I’ve been wearing the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit in Posie K a lot recently as my go to lip colour, and I do really like the way it goes on, how matte it is, and it’s really non drying, but…I feel like Posie K is a completely different colour to what I thought it was, and also I don’t think it’s anywhere near as long lasting as I expected it to be. Basically, if I eat it all comes off, and I heard so many people talk about it surviving anything!
So yeah, this is currently what I’m using everyday on my face; I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to let me know what you think!
All my love BGP xx
