Disappointing Products | September 2017

Hello friends, I hope you’re all well.

Today is a Disappointing Products post; it’s a blog I do every few months or so, to let you know which products I’ve bought, (or sometimes been sent), tried and tested, and unfortunately do not like.

As always, I have to say, it’s nothing against the brands, the majority of brands I feature I absolutely love other products that they offer, but these certain ones just didn’t work well for me. I think it’s important to do these posts, as I don’t ever want anyone who reads my blog to think that I sing the praises of everything, because that’s just not real life, there will always be products you don’t like, and I think when you do reviews, you need to say when you don’t like something!

So anyway, here we go.

Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo – I love Moroccan oil products, they’re fantastic for your hair and improving what damaged locks look like on the surface, hence I bought this, and the matching conditioner.

This shampoo simply makes my hair look greasy; if I wash my hair at night, the next morning/afternoon it’s already looking greasy and thick with product, no matter how much I’ve washed it out.

I’ve found I’m having to use dry shampoo the day after washing, which is crazy as usually I only have to get the Batiste out after day 3.

So yeah, this makes my hair look extremely greasy, and therefore, it’s made it into this blog post!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in ‘Hepburn Honey’ – Now, to begin with, I love Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. Her Matte Revolution lipsticks are my favourite lipsticks of all time, however this one, unfortunately is one of my worst, for nothing more than the colour.

Maybe it’s my own fault for purchasing it, but it looked like a gorgeous nude online, but in person, it is literally just beige. The definition of beige, and it doesn’t look nice.

It looks a bit like I’ve just put concealer on my lips, and I hate that look; maybe it would look lovely on a darker skin tone, who knows, but on me, the colour is simply horrendous.

Sport FX Time Out Face Mist + Plus – There isn’t much to say about this apart from it just didn’t keep my makeup on. My T Zone was oily as hell, my foundation oxidised and around my nose/cheek area was the worst for lack of staying power. There’s setting sprays that are far, far better out there on the market.

Lancôme Grandiose Liner – I had such high hopes for this, because I went away on a blogging trip and my friend Cassie had this on when we were swimming in a lake and in the ridiculous heat and it stayed on so well and looked brilliant on her, but for me it just didn’t stay on well at all.

I also found that after using it for a few days it was coming out more grey rather than black, and I was ending up with eyeliner transferring into the corner of my eye throughout the day which I kept having to remove.

It was an expensive eyeliner, so I may try and give it another go with a different eyeshadow base or eyeshadow primer and get back to you, but for now, it’s not fit for purpose.

That is the end of my updated Disappointing Products, I hope you enjoyed!

I’ll speak to you all soon.

All my love BGP xx
