Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well!
So, this year I wanna share way more ‘stuff to do’ on my blog (wow I have such a way with words don’t I?), and not just in Brighton.
I personally love hearing about fun things to do in London, because it’s such a quick train ride away, so a few weeks ago, me and my friends went up and went to a few different places (Warning: unless you wanna remortgage your house, don’t go to The Shard…£20 a drink, pretty much. It’s amazing but mega £££), one of them being Swingers.
Essentially, it’s an indoor Crazy Golf place, with bars and place to get food too. You can drink as you go round, there’s music, and basically everyone is having the time of their lives. I LOVED IT.
It’s really spacious in there, with two different 9 hole courses, an entire street food area, and bar area.
You can order drinks as you go round and get them brought over to you, which I absolutely love. I’ve always loved crazy golf ever since I was little, and I literally found this to be the most fun, social, and upbeat experience.
Me and my friends kept saying what an amazing first date venue this would be; we’ve all been there on a first date where you go for drinks or dinner and you feel a bit awkward. I feel like this is such a good ‘ice breaker’, because you can have a laugh and chat as you go round and have a laugh, and then get something to eat and drink after and properly sit and chat without any of the awkwardness.
There was every type of group there; groups of friends like us, couples, families, stag dos; it’s an 18+ venue so bear that in mind but apart from that, whether you wanna go there with your girlfriend, husband, parents, sister, cousins, a big group of friends or just one friend, it’s honestly the perfect place. I’d never bullshit any of you and want you to spend your hard earned money on anything that was shit, and I’m honestly telling you Swingers is so much fun.
You get given a score card and pen, so you can write down your scores; you’re allowed six shots on each one, and if you haven’t got it in the hole by then, then it’s the next persons turn. It starts off on quite a simple course, but by the end of it you’ve got ones with really intricate designs making it a lot more difficult. My friend nearly knocked someone out with her ball – that’s not a euphemism.
There’s a whole big bar and food area after you’ve completed your course. We went on a Saturday late afternoon so there was a really good atmosphere in this area afterwards, with everyone in a really good mood and gearing up to go out after. There’s 3 food places to choose from; Pizza Pilgrims, Patty & Bun (burgers) and DF/Mexico. My friends both had pizza which they said was really nice, and I went for the steak tacos pictured above which were UNREAL. I did drip sauce all down me, but thankfully I had on wet look trousers so they were a wipe-clean jobby.
As I’ve said, Swingers is such a good place; I could not recommend it enough. Even if you’re not a drinker, it’s still a really fun place to go, and if you are, then that’s great too, because you can have cocktails, beers, wine, whatever you want, as you go round and get geared up for going out after if that’s what you’re doing.
I’m planning on taking my parents there, and I want to go back with my friends again in the Spring/Summer, and if I end up with anyone this year I’ll be dragging them there too. Yep, that’s how obsessed I am.
It’s situated really close to The Gherkin, in 8 Browns Buildings in The City. Next month, they’re opening a West End location up too at John Prince’s Street.
I hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know if you go and what you think!
All my love BGP xx
